Creating a Beauty Collective with a Mission of Service

The ALA was formed to create unity amongst the lash artist community, and to support lash artists in reaching their business goals. We were inspired by a lash artist's journey. Now we're working to enrich the journeys of lash artists everywhere.

The American Lash Association was founded by Michelle Davies in 2022 to help unify and empower the lash artist community. After years witnessing her daughter’s journey from lash hopeful to six-figure lash queen, she realized that most lash artists start out feeling a little lonely and disconnected. The realities of learning a new craft, building a business, and nurturing client acquisition can be daunting.

Often budding lash artists find it challenging to discern what’s the next best step. They spend hours searching through the noise for the right resources, guidance, and direction. With no official organization to help guide them in their process, lash beginners often find themselves in courses run by gurus promising to have “the secret” to success.

It became obvious to Michelle that a unified national organization was needed for this rapidly growing community, and so the American Lash Association (ALA) sparked into reality.

Becoming an Association

In 2023, Michelle recruited marketing and communications maven, Cristina Fard, as Executive Director to help bring the ALA vision to life. As the Executive Director, Cristina’s mission is to celebrate each artist’s unique journey, knowing that it’s these personal stories that enrich the tapestry of our community. Michelle and Cristina believe the goal of the ALA should always be to empower lash artists, unify the industry, and move the lash profession forward.
Their hope is that by Spring of 2024, the ALA Leadership Council, composed of lash leaders from across the nation, will actively be setting the agenda of the Association. Representing the voices of our members, and setting the national standard for Lash Artistry in the United States.
